They are extremely low, and yet by wanting something as simple as 'not
about to be torn apart in a major international conflict' my hopes are
consistently dashed.
Sure sucked the first time, anyway. And I can't complain about the accommodations. It might be just personal preference whether you'd rather be caught between nations in conflict or just disorganized angry people with knives and magic powers.
The first time I was here I definitely let it get to me. Nothing really ever seemed to change. After I got over being alive, I kinda just coasted. Kinda sucks that it's even possible to be bored in a magic spaceship.

I don't know or care about your planet but I'll take it on trust, darling.
no subject
Fonder of yours or just unimpressed by planets in general?
no subject
Oh, no, Etheria's no use to me either. So, the latter, I suppose.

Improvement on - what, exactly?

[And that makes them interesting,]

You'd think! And yet.
Fortunately, I do seem to have washed up on a ship where I don't need to pay rent and can't die.
no subject
[Ben has never paid rent.]

no subject
Well. Maybe you keep antagonizing people with knives et cetera, darling, but some of us can lead a quiet life.
[Incredibly quiet. Too quiet. God they're bored.]
no subject
[Also when knife dude is your brother...]
no subject
Why? In my experience, 'knife dudes' are less likely to get knifey with you if you just stay out of their way.
no subject
no subject
Have you never encountered knife people who are also extremely loyal to their government?
no subject
no subject
Absolutely terrible. But, again, not really a problem here!
no subject
[Little bit of a leading comment, maybe.]
no subject
[Mmmm.]
And?
no subject
And then it starts to drag a little?
no subject
Thus returning us to the very beginning of this conversation, darling.
[And the mention of constant, worrying boredom.]
no subject
no subject
That's inevitable, darling. Boredom, however, rates above several forms of excitement.

Do you think I'm just laying around all day? For shame, warden. I'm gainfully employed.
