If a whole planet's not up to your standards, they're probably pretty exacting.

They are extremely low, and yet by wanting something as simple as 'not about to be torn apart in a major international conflict' my hopes are consistently dashed.

I've admittedly just been to a couple different versions of the one, but that does seem like it shouldn't be a tall order.

You'd think! And yet.

Fortunately, I do seem to have washed up on a ship where I don't need to pay rent and can't die.

Sure sucked the first time, anyway. And I can't complain about the accommodations. It might be just personal preference whether you'd rather be caught between nations in conflict or just disorganized angry people with knives and magic powers.

Well. Maybe you keep antagonizing people with knives et cetera, darling, but some of us can lead a quiet life.

[Incredibly quiet. Too quiet. God they're bored.]

I feel like that would work better with major political entities than knife dudes.

Why? In my experience, 'knife dudes' are less likely to get knifey with you if you just stay out of their way.

Comes down to scale, I guess. It's personal for the knife guy, and a nation-state doesn't seem that likely to notice you.

Absolutely terrible. But, again, not really a problem here!

The first time I was here I definitely let it get to me. Nothing really ever seemed to change. After I got over being alive, I kinda just coasted. Kinda sucks that it's even possible to be bored in a magic spaceship.

That's inevitable, darling. Boredom, however, rates above several forms of excitement.

Yeah, but with their absence comes the terrible responsibility of keeping yourself busy.
